What is Calculogic?
Calculogic is an advanced field, form, and logic builder I’m developing to give creators more control over their forms, quizzes, and structured tools. Its central idea is configurations—user-built pieces assembled from smaller components instead of picked from a fixed catalog—so a form isn’t limited to whatever fields I thought to hardcode ahead of time. Resources goes deeper into how that’s put together. That capability is still being built alongside the rest of the app.
With Calculogic, you won’t be limited to arranging prebuilt fields—you’ll be able to build the fields themselves.

What is H-CAT (Holistic Character Assessment Toolkit)?
H-CAT started first—an attempt to make character psychology and narrative structure explicit enough to turn into structured forms instead of leaving those connections in my head. Building the tools H-CAT needed led to Calculogic, a more general system for creating fields, forms, quizzes, and logic. H-CAT remains the creative toolkit and original use case; Calculogic is the broader builder growing from that work.

What’s Next?
Current focus: the Calculogic Validator
Right now, the priority is making the Validator reliable enough to check real Calculogic project structure before more Builder features are added.

Who’s Behind This?
H-CAT started with a creative block. I was working on a comic and kept getting stuck on action scenes and character psychology—the usual tricks, like using household items to block out movement, could only take me so far. That sent me looking at tabletop gaming mechanics as a way to think about character psychology more rigorously, which is where the idea of turning personality into game stats came from. I explored that seriously before eventually focusing H-CAT on the more buildable piece: forms.
I started as a creator looking for tools that didn’t exist yet. Building H-CAT led me to learn development for myself, and that process grew into Calculogic. I’m still approaching the work from a creator’s perspective, but I’m now also a self-taught developer building the system those ideas required.
I couldn’t find a tool that worked the way I needed, so I began building one myself. This project comes from my own frustration with creative tools, and I want to build something that truly works for all of us.
